Joe Morgan

Course Instructor

Joe is an Ex-Head of Strategy, UX and Service Design with over 18 years experience: 8 running his own music publishing business and 10 working across a number of large agency networks and smaller independent boutique shops. His knowledge and expertise span the entire gamut of marketing disciplines, from brand, advertising, content and CRM to media, social, design and digital transformation.

Build a professional portfolio of projects

Over the duration of the course you will work on a live client brief - this will be an end-to-end case study for your portfolio. We advise having at least 3 projects in your portfolio, so by using your learnings from the course you will have the framework to work on other projects with best practises.

This service design project had our students working closely with the team at London Sport Tech Hub to help strengthen the service offering of providing help to tech startups helping to keep or make people active again.

AzuKo is an architecture charity that works with disadvantaged communities to create a world they dream of through co-design - our students helped design a new programme where professionals worldwide can travel and share their knowledge to the next generation of social impact designers.

Sylvia Wong

Our students worked on designing the service of The Digital Skills Project (through the Career Colleges Trust) which aims to build students’ business skills using subjects that are relevant to their age group.

Frequently asked questions

There isn’t one! We want to help everyone who wants to study Service Design do so. To secure your space on a course all you have to do is book via our website or by contacting and telling us which programme you’d like to do. You can also chat with one of our instructors and talk through your objectives, previous experience and how we might best support you during your time with us.
Yes, you will definitely need to develop a portfolio. Over the duration of the course you will be working on a live client brief - this will be an end-to-end case study for your portfolio. We advise having at least 3 projects in your portfolio, so by using your learnings from the course you will have the framework to work on other projects with best practises. Once you have a strong portfolio, you will be ready to apply for service designer roles. Our career advice and portfolio guidance is lifelong so we will be able to support you on the additional projects post the course, interview support and ensure your portfolio is the best showcase of your work.
All students receive a Haus course completion certificate at the end of the course. The course is recognised in regards to Experience Haus being an industry recognised brand.
Experience Haus is a very well-known provider whose following grows every day. However, it’s important to remember Service Design is not like other industries, where the name of your university or place of education is important to prospective employers. When applying for roles it will be the strength of your portfolio and work experience that differentiates you, not where you studied. The exception being more niche specialisms such as design research, where more formal academic qualifications may be required.
No, our courses are open to anyone. Whilst some of our students have studied or worked in design-related fields, many have very little experience (if any). We’ve had everyone from very senior industrial and digital designers with over 10 years’ experience to paramedics, lawyers, police and coffee shop baristas!
Purchases are non-refundable, except at the discretion of Experience Haus Ltd. Typically, cancellations or refund requests received 14 days prior to the start of a course or workshop will be honoured. However, due to the complex nature of the service being provided this cannot be guaranteed, and will be assessed on a case-by-case basis. This policy does not include deposits, all of which are non-refundable.

What our students say about us

"The Service Design course was perfect for me. What was so great about it? The chance to work with a live client means you can put theory to practice. The range of modules, from leadership to implementation, cover all bases. The content itself straddles both the academic and practical, when so many other courses are wishy-washy! On top of that, the coaches at EH are second to none. They care. Best decision I ever made."

David Robson

Strategy Advisor

"The staff at Experience Haus took the time to find out about my role and helped me decide if this course was really what I was looking for. The offer of mentor-ship also helped seal the deal. My main interest in the course was that it covered the A-Z of Service Design and would give me the strong foundation I was looking for. I just hadn't come across anything like it."

Service Design & Transformation Manager

“Experience Haus provided a more affordable, dedicated and flexible service design course, with greater levels of engagement through smaller class sizes and project-based work.”
