EXPLORE THIS COURSE

01

Study in an agency environment.

Our studio is based in Shoreditch, in the heart of London’s creative district.

You will come into class and be inspired by the highly dynamic creative environment. You will be encouraged to network with like-minded individuals to not only benefit your own professional development, but also to build a support network for your career.

02

Real projects, real clients.

Our ‘learn by doing’ practical approach gives our students the perfect opportunity to apply what they have learnt straight away in the real world. Learn relevant design methods, along with how to leverage design in today’s AI driven landscape.

You will be given a live design project brief with a real client to work on as a small group. This gives you a taster of the real working environment and allows you to build relationships with industry professionals. At the end of the course you will have an end-to-end project to add to your digital portfolio.

03

Classes capped at 8 students

Our small class sizes allows the instructor to spend more time with each student discussing key concepts, providing feedback on work, answering specific questions, and sharing the wealth of experience they have to offer.

Benefit from valuable critique as you learn the design process and build foundational skills.

Learn by Doing.

A comprehensive course covering research tactics, design and critical thinking, stakeholder management, product strategy, user experience (UX) and user interface design (UI) – all of which come together to play an important role in making successful design decisions.

You will learn all the fundamental methods and tools in this digital product design course to become a user experience designer including how to conduct effective user research, building empathy and experience maps, understanding how to write good user stories, and more. Learn how to use the latest AI tools to help push your design productivity to next level.

On day 1 of the course your instructor will provide the project briefs. The methods and tools you learn in our in-person product design classes will then be applied to your design project which you will work on away from the course in your own time, and occasionally in class.

Classes for our product design course in London are held twice a week at our Shoreditch studio (from 6:30pm-8:30pm London time) either on Monday and Wednesday evenings, or Tuesday and Thursday evenings, depending on your chosen start date.

Andy Finlay

Senior Product Designer

The course all round was a very memorable experience. The classes were really engaging and interactive with great tutoring and good contextual examples to help us learn about the process which is what I enjoyed the most.

Alexandra Nurse

UX/UI designer at Charles Tyrwitt

The best thing about Experience Haus was definitely gaining a portfolio piece that was a live brief with a real client. I wanted that experience of working for someone but not like a freelancer so I found that really beneficial.

Vez Maxwell

Senior UX Designer at WeDo Digital

I loved my time with Experience Haus. was worried I’d be tired commuting to this after work (as I’m sure other part-timers would be) but it turned out to be the highlight of my work week every week.

Avery Warkentin

Junior UX/UI Designer at Urban Jungle Insurance

Experience Haus was the perfect place for me toj ump-start my product design career! Fantastic instructors, real client projects, in-person classes and a supportive community.

Liza Schulze

Freelance Junior UX/UI Designer

The instructor and student support were both amazing during my time on the course. I really liked the fact the class sizes were capped at 8 and we got to work with a real client as well!

Over the duration of the course you will be assigned a real client and will work on a live design challenge written and set by them. You will apply your learnings to the project as the course unfolds.

The culmination of this project will be you presenting your work back to the client, explaining your process and journey.

By the time you graduate from this course you will have a full end-to-end case study to add to your digital portfolio. We advise adding a few more design projects to the portfolio, so by using your learnings from this course you will have the framework to work on other design projects with best practises.

FAQs

Have more questions? We have the answers.

This Product design certification course is focused on the process of building a digital product from scratch to launch. These include clarifying user groups, creating user journeys, choosing right features and execution methods and more.

Yes it does. User research, analysis and writing user journeys are part of the UX process and there are Figma workshops (the industry-leading wireframing and prototyping software) that go through the creation of digital wireframes. You will learn how design and build UI prototypes, and how to present your work to clients through presentation and storytelling.

This can change depending on the stage of the course but we say on average there will be 8-10 hours of individual and group homework each week.

Yes, at the end of the first session, you will be assigned to an actual client to work on a real project that they are working on as part of building their own business. At the end of the course you will present a formal presentation back to your client.

We offer three payment options for all of our courses. You can pay in full and save 10% off the regular price; or you can spread the cost by paying in 3 instalments taken during the course.

If you have taken any courses with us before, you will save 20% off the regular price.

No, our courses are open to anyone. Whilst some of our students have studied or worked in design-related fields, many have very little experience (if any). We’ve had everyone from very senior industrial and digital designers with over 10 years’ experience to paramedics, lawyers, police and coffee shop baristas!

No, contrary to popular belief you do not need to know how to code in order to become a Product Designer. Whilst it used to help with rapid prototyping, improvements in design software mean that this is no longer the case. So, whilst is important that you understand technology and are able to communicate with developers effectively, most product designers cannot (and do not) actually code.

There is no application process or any entry requirements for joining our courses! To secure your space on a course all you have to do is book via our website or by contacting enrol@experiencehaus.com and telling us which programme you’d like to do.

Part-time courses are a fantastic way of getting the ball rolling and getting the in depth knowledge quickly, conveniently and cost-effectively, but do not contain enough projects, work experience or portfolio development for you to start applying for roles immediately post-graduation. You will have to do this afterwards (with our careers support of course!). As an alternative, our full-time Career Development Bootcamp provides everything that’s needed to get your first Product Design role.

Yes, you will probably need to develop a portfolio. If you are doing our full-time Career Development Bootcamp then this will be completed as part of the curriculum, but if taking a part-time course then it will need to be done afterwards in your own time – with support from us as part of our lifelong mentoring service.

Courses can be taken with standard Windows PC or Apple hardware. The only programs that you will almost definitely need to use at some stage are Figma (the main design program we teach), FigJam and Zoom. All of which can be run through your internet browser with no need to download their desktop applications unless you want to work offline. Many other programs are discussed throughout our courses, but none are essential.

We primarily use Figma because it is one of the most intuitive, collaborative and inclusive prototyping and design programs available. Students can easily share their work and co-create on the same canvases through their web browser in real-time, without needing to download an application and suffer compatibility issues. Figma is also fast-becoming the industry standard and norm – although this changes quickly!

Purchases are non-refundable, except at the discretion of Experience Haus Ltd. Typically, cancellations or refund requests received 14 days prior to the start of a course or workshop will be honoured. However, due to the complex nature of the service being provided this cannot be guaranteed, and will be assessed on a case-by-case basis. This policy does not include deposits, all of which are non-refundable.

Provided you give us enough notice, we are happy for you to change courses once you’ve booked.

Upon successful completion of the course, all students will be given an Experience Haus course completion certificate. The course is recognised in regards to Experience Haus being an industry recognised brand.

No – the briefs are selected to help you apply your learnings in the best way and create a great portfolio piece. We cannot change the brief that has been selected for you as we want this to be as real life as possible, where you don’t always choose what you work on and would need to deliver the project regardless of personal preference.
