The Lab: Our R&D arm - Experience Haus

The Lab:
Where Chapter 2 gets built.

The R&D arm of Experience Haus.

Everyone in financial services is talking about agentic AI. Almost no one can show what an agentic workflow actually looks like.

The Lab is where we find out. We spot the questions the industry hasn’t answered: the workflows stuck in Chapter 1, and we build. Prototypes, blueprints, working demonstrations. Then we publish what we learn, in the open.

What the Lab does

We build, test and share. We prototype the agentic workflows most organisations only describe. We pressure-test our frameworks using methods like agent role design, human-in-the-loop architecture and decision-rights mapping, against real problems, hands-on. And we publish what we find, including what broke.

The building is done by the Experience Haus team alongside selected builders from our trained alumni network consisting of thousands of designers, product managers and strategists who’ve been through our programmes.

Where the questions come from

We don’t take on briefs. We watch where the industry is stuck: the workflows that resist optimisation, the regulatory signals, like the FCA’s Mills Review, that point at what’s coming, and the patterns we see inside our client work that deserve testing in the open.

When a question matters enough, the Lab builds the answer. Lending. Onboarding. Claims. Anywhere a process is still an accumulation of historical compromises.

What the Lab works on:
BUILT, TESTED AND PUBLISHED IN THE OPEN

Why the Lab exists.

The FCA has built the regulator's AI Lab. Someone needed to build the practitioner's one.

The industry doesn't need more commentary about agentic AI. It needs working examples and honest accounts of what broke.

Every framework we bring into a client engagement gets tested here first. The Lab is where our method earns its place.

Most AI projects make a 2015 process slightly faster. We're more interested in what the workflow looks like when you start from zero.

A blueprint is a claim. A prototype is evidence. The Lab exists to turn one into the other.

From the Lab

Everything worth knowing gets published.

What comes out of the Lab?

• Working agentic prototypes
• Zero-based service blueprints
• Published teardowns
• Stress-tested frameworks
• Proof of Concepts
