Course overview

  • Real client brief for your portfolio

Students will work independently on a client project from a local startup, which students are paired up with on day one of the course. Students deliver a presentation summarising their journey, process and work throughout.

  • Classes capped at 8 students

Small class sizes allows the instructor to spend more time with each student discussing key concepts; getting feedback on work; asking outstanding questions; and benefiting from the wealth of experience they have to offer.

  • Based in a design agency, not a school

Our studio is based in one of London’s leading design and branding agencies. Students come into class inspired by the highly dynamic creative environment, and are able to talk to agency staff as they come and go.

Our alumni join some of the industry’s biggest names

Build a professional portfolio of projects

Over the duration of the course you will work on a live client brief - this will be an end-to-end case study for your portfolio. We advise having at least 3 projects in your portfolio, so by using your learnings from the course you will have the framework to work on other projects with best practises.

This project consisted of research around the pain points dental practices face and designing improved dashboards to help with everyday reporting.

This project investigated how this startup app could help employers re-engage and re-connect with their employees, especially those who are front-line with customers.

Powered by AI, this software is delivered on waterproof tablets to allow participants to progress in their exercises at their own pace. The challenge was to design software for the elderly or those that aren't digitally savvy.

Frequently asked questions

No, contrary to popular belief you do not need to know how to code in order to become a Product Designer. Whilst it used to help with rapid prototyping, improvements in design software mean that this is no longer the case (in fact it’s slower). So, whilst is important that you understand technology and are able to communicate with developers effectively, most product designers cannot (and do not) actually code.
There isn’t one! We want to help everyone who wants to study UX/UI do so. To secure your space on a course all you have to do is book via our website or by contacting enrol@experiencehaus.com and telling us which programme you’d like to do. For those doing our larger courses, you’ll then get the chance to speak with one of our instructors and talk through your objectives, previous experience and how we might best support you during your time with us.
Yes, you will definitely need to develop a portfolio. Over the duration of the course you will be working on a live client brief - this will be an end-to-end case study for your portfolio. We advise having at least 3 projects in your portfolio, so by using your learnings from the course you will have the framework to work on other projects with best practises. Once you have a strong portfolio, you will be ready to apply for UI designer roles. Our career advice and portfolio guidance is lifelong so we will be able to support you on the additional projects post the course, interview support and ensure your portfolio is the best showcase of your work.
Experience Haus is a very well-known provider whose following grows every day. However, it’s important to remember Product Design is not like other industries, where the name of your university or place of education is important to prospective employers. When applying for roles it will be the strength of your portfolio and work experience that differentiates you, not where you studied. The exception being more niche specialisms such as design research, where more formal academic qualifications may be required.
No, our courses are open to anyone. Whilst some of our students have studied or worked in design-related fields, many have very little experience (if any). We’ve had everyone from very senior industrial and digital designers with over 10 years’ experience to paramedics, lawyers, police and coffee shop baristas!
Purchases are non-refundable, except at the discretion of Experience Haus Ltd. Typically, cancellations or refund requests received 14 days prior to the start of a course or workshop will be honoured. However, due to the complex nature of the service being provided this cannot be guaranteed, and will be assessed on a case-by-case basis. This policy does not include deposits, all of which are non-refundable.

What our students say about us

Avatar

“The content and tutors were excellent throughout, always answering questions and keeping students on track. However, what makes this course really exceptional is the chace to work on a proper start-up, giving you real-world work experience and a unique project for your portfolio. In fact, I was lucky enough to be hired by my client at the end"

Huw Sambrook

Junior UX/UI Designer

Avatar

“As a freelancer I have completed several in-house and online courses and this one is by far the most valuable in terms of content, execution and community. The rock-solid experience of the instructors is evident, and the way they adapt the course for each student brilliant. Post-graduation support is also top-notch, with mentor check-ins and portfolio reviews available on-demand, and regular free events on offer”

Can Hoskan
